Mizuho Bank selects Traydstream to advance trade finance digitisation

September 30, 2026

TraydCheck is now used by all three Japanese megabanks, strengthening Traydstream’s position across Japan’s trade ecosystem

London and Tokyo – [30-09-2026] – Traydstream today announced that Mizuho Bank, one of Japan’s three megabanks and a leading global financial institution, has selected TraydCheck and TraydConnect to support its trade finance digitisation initiatives.

The mandate marks an important milestone for Traydstream in one of the world’s most significant trade finance markets.

With Mizuho joining MUFG and SMBC, all three Japanese megabanks are now users of TraydCheck. This establishes Traydstream as the only trade finance-focused fintech serving all three institutions through a common document checking platform.

TraydCheck uses intelligent automation to support the scrutiny of trade documentation, helping financial institutions reduce manual processing, improve consistency and accelerate turnaround times.

TraydConnect complements this capability by strengthening digital connectivity and collaboration between banks and their corporate clients. As adoption grows, the platform can support a more connected trade finance ecosystem across Japan’s financial institutions, trading companies and exporters.

Yutaka Izawa, Managing Director of Traydstream said:

“Mizuho’s selection of TraydCheck and TraydConnect is a major milestone for Traydstream and reflects the growing demand for intelligent, connected trade finance technology in Japan. With TraydCheck now used by all three Japanese megabanks, we have a unique opportunity to support greater consistency and efficiency across the country’s trade ecosystem. We are delighted to welcome Mizuho and look forward to building a strong and lasting relationship.”

The significance of the mandate extends beyond the banking sector. Japan’s megabanks sit at the centre of an extensive network of corporates, trading companies and exporters.

By working with a consistent document checking technology across multiple banking relationships, corporate clients have an opportunity to standardise documentary trade processes, reduce duplicated effort and improve the flow of information between counterparties.

The mandate also reflects Traydstream’s continued investment in Japan, bringing together its regional expertise and global trade finance capabilities to support the evolving requirements of banks and corporates.

Traydstream thanks Mizuho Bank, MUFG, SMBC and its corporate clients and partners for their continued trust and collaboration.
