“Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to dive deep into technologies like Kubernetes, Loki, Prometheus, Grafana, SonarQube, and more. Completing the CKA and CKS certifications has been a significant milestone, but it’s the hands-on experience that has truly shaped my skills.

Linux has become my daily playground, and grep has become an indispensable tool—it’s amazing how much there is to learn, even after using it every day! I’ve also had the chance to create and maintain multiple utilities in Node.js, and more recently, I’ve ventured into Python by writing and maintaining a utility, as well as supporting one developed by a coworker.

One of the highlights of my year has been improving our monitoring capabilities. It’s fulfilling to see those improvements being used heavily and speeding up issue analysis across the team.

Writing bash scripts to interact with Azure and Kubernetes has been a rewarding challenge, and despite my earlier experience with PowerShell, there’s something uniquely satisfying about mastering bash.

Looking ahead, my focus is on earning the LFCS and Cilium certifications. I’m also exploring ways to contribute to the Linux and Kubernetes communities, and I’m excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
